Sinharaja is a Rain Forest and a biodiversity hotspot which is located in south west lowland wet zone within Sabaragamu and Southern provinces of Sri Lanka. Sinharaja rain forest is the country’s last viable area of primary tropical rain forest. It covers an area of 11,000 Ha of primary and secondary forests. This narrow strip of rolling site comprises of a series of ridges and valleys. More than 60% of the trees are endemic to Sinharaja Forest and many of them are considered rare. There is much endemic wildlife, especially birds but the reserve is also home to over 50% of Sri Lanka’s endemic species of butterflies & mammals and also many kinds of insects, reptiles and rare amphibians. This is one of the main reasons that UNESCO declared Sinharaja Forest as a UNESCO World Heritage in 1988 under the name of Sinharaja Forest Reserve.  One of the most popular tourists attraction these days is the katusu konde Mountain in the Kandy district. Although many people climb this katusu konde mountian separatly, it is actually mountain peak located at one end of the Hanthana Range, which consists of seven mountains.  Due to the unique shape of the lazard's spine and the difficulty of navigating it ,many young people prefer to go here for an adventurous experience .But of course the katusukonde ( Lizard's backbone) is very dangerous, so if you have going here, you have to be very careful about your safety. The route we use to get here was to take a "Kandy- Mahakanda" bus to Mahakanda and then go about 3,4 km and you'll find a small village , go through that village and from there step up the small footpath.   Kabaragala is the highest mountain in the Dolosbage Range. Although it is about 1506m high, the view from the top is breathtaking. About an hour after starting the hike we were able to climb the first peak. Due to the different location we decided to go camping there without going any further.  Kelabokka is a beautiful place located in the Panvila Kabaragala area in the Matale District.  This place is located on the road from Panvila to Matale, about 6km from the main road.  Although it is about 6km, it is a beautiful road with side roads to go up.  A 360 ° wide view can be seen from the top of the hill.  The jungle is located at an altitude of 1175m above sea level.  The road through the tea estates along this beautiful knuckles mountain that stretches all the way to Matale is also very beautiful.  The view of the morning sunrise and sunset over Kalabokka is breathtaking.  This place has Matale, Sembuwatta, Knuckles Range, Batalegala, Pidurutalagala, Riverston Range, Kandy and Sri Pada site at night.  Horton Plains National Park is a national park located in the central highlands of Sri Lanka, named in 1988.It is located at an altitude of 2,100–2,300 m (6,900–7,500 ft). And covers mountain meadows and cloud forests. It is rich in biodiversity and many of the species found here are endemic to the region. The vegetation of the plains is interspersed with mountain forests and includes many endemic woody plants. The large sambar deer herds of Sri Lanka are common mammals and the park is not only endemic to Sri Lanka but also an important bird sanctuary with a large number of species restricted to the Horton Plains. Deforestation is one of the major threats to the park, and some studies suggest that it may have been caused by a natural phenomenon. The sheer precipice of World's End and Baker's Falls are among the tourist attractions of the park. There are several records of elephants in the park dating back to the 20th century.

  Sigiriya also known as “Sinhagiri” or “Lion’s Rock” is an ancient rock fortress situated in Sigiriya town near the town of Dambulla in the Central Province of Sri Lanka. Sigiriya rock is about 200 meters in height and is a UNESCO listed World Heritage Site. The rock has great historical and archaeological significance and is widely known as the eighth wonder of the world. Sigiriya Rock was used by the ancient King Kashyapa as his Royal Palace. The king used it as a hideout and a way of protecting himself and his kingdom from enemies. Sigiriya Rock is one of the best preserved examples of ancient urban planning.  The Nelligala International Buddhist Center is as famous as the Temple of the Tooth. The Nelligala Sacred Area was created in 2014 by conserving a scrub forest.  It is worth mentioning here that the forest has been conserved.  This Buddhist heritage is situated in a beautiful environment where the sweet sound of the jungle spreads all around.  Hanthana, Hunnasgiri, Andagala, Alagalla, Batalegala, Ambuluwawa, Atigala, Ramasara Kanda, Sri Pada and Pidurutalagala can all be viewed from a 360 degree view from the top of Nelligala at an elevation of 700 m above sea level.  It took six years of dedication to build this sacred place in the middle of the blue mountain range.  The statues and designs here are golden in color and the bodhi tree in a large bowl of gold is special.  The seventy feet high bubble-shaped pagoda stands out among other creations of gold on a blue background.  Another surprise was that the stupa was completed in three months....

  Mahinda Bandara, If there's been a Lead Guitar Solo on Electric Guitar in Sri Lanka, the first guess we get is, "Ah, this must be Mahinda Bandara."  From Rookantha to Raju Bandara to Nirosha Virajini's guitar parts in songs, they are owned by Mahinda Bandara.  In many other songs we do not know, the guitar is played by Mahinda Bandara.  Mahinda Bandara is our "Guitar Hero" in Sri Lanka.  Mahinda Bandara's Playing is so improvised that the 2nd solo of the song "Me Diganthaya" was directly improvised.  It's not tabbed anywhere, but it's like the essence of the song.( Diganthaye by Mahinda Bandara - YouTube )  While composing the song, Mahinda Bandara was able to recreate the guitar vibe of Rock's Glam Metal inside Sri Lanka.  For us in Sri Lanka, a guitarist who has been an inspiration in every way.

  The Hanthana Range is located southwest of Kandy. The maximum elevation here is about 3800 feet.   Peacock Hill is a mountain which is situated near the Pussellawa town in the central highlands of Sri Lanka. It stands at a height of approximately 1518 m and provides an amazing view of the surrounding mountains and valleys. The top of the mountain provides stunning views of the Pussellawa town, Kotmale Reservoir, Kabaragala Mountain and Ramboda Falls. Hike to Peacock Hill is a relatively easy one which can be tried by many people. Peacock Hill is also known as “Monara Gala Mountain”. Directions to Peacock Hill=From Kandy travel along the Kandy Road passing Peradeniya and Gampola up to Ulapane. Then travel along the Ulapane – Pussellawa Road up to Pussellawa to reach the Peacock Hill.
